Back Home is a children’s picture book about a young Muslim girl adjusting to daily life in a Western country. Today is Asha’s first day of school in her new country, and everything is so strange to her – the class is taught in with boys and girls mixed together, the children wear clothing unlike what she’s accustomed to, and even the food is different. But as she makes friends and learns exciting new things, she understands that maybe her new school is not so different from home after all! Back Home is a charming and heartwarming story with a positive message of tolerance and respect, highly recommended especially for school and public library picture book collections.
